Birmingham chairman David Gold is considering resigning after the club’s fans blamed the board for the club’s relegation. Owner of Gold Group International, the parent company of the retailer Ann Summers, he was close to tears after the 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. “Never in my time at the club have I seen that sort of abuse from fans, he said. “You could see the hate in the eyes of the people sat in front of us. It was a venomous verbal attack.” Don’t get your knickers in a twist!

Pini Zahavi has confirmed that Tal Ben Haim will be leaving Chelsea in the summer. Following the defenders recent outburst against boss Avram Grant, Zahavi said: “If he would have consulted with me I would have advised him not to speak to the newspapers about how unhappy he is. But there are several Premier League clubs who want to sign him and he will be moving in the summer.” And we’re sure you will be looking to make a handsome profit Pini!

The timing of Avram Grant’s first manager of the month award could not have been any worse. The accolade has often put the mockers on a boss, and despite Grant becoming the first Israeli to win the Barclays top boss gong last Friday after Chelsea earned 10 points from a possible 12, it could not help him from wrestling the Premier League title from Manchester United two days later. Grant was in Belfast on Tuesday to make the draw for the Northern Ireland Milk Cup Youth football tournament. His club will send a team to take part alongside the Red Devils and Brazilian side Fluminense.
