HMH completed their first part of a potential league and cup Maccabi GB Southern Football League double on Sunday evening after they beat Maccabi London Vets 3-0 in the Peter Morrison Trophy final.
Goals from Sam Monjack, Thomas Prais and Eli Wegrzyn saw them to the victory.
Co-manager Eli Wegrzyn said afterwards: “It was a well-organised and mature performance from our boys against an experienced Lions side.
"After a tight opening we settled into our flow and in the end worked hard to dominate the ball, ending with a fantastic and deserved win.
“It’s very special to win such a historic competition and we’re so proud of all the boys who have worked so hard to get here.
"HMH is proud to take part in the success of Jewish football in Britain.” The team can complete the double on Sunday morning when they take on Hendon United, knowing a win will secure them the Premier Division title while anything less would see Hendon crowned champions.
Also celebrating at the weekend were Rapid Viennas, who lifted the Barry Goldstein Trophy after coming from a goal down to beat HMH B 3-1. Henry Waterer, Dylan Krikler and Jack Miller scored their goals.
Manager Josh Novack said: “In all my years of coaching, this win feels the most special. That’s not just because of our performances throughout the tournament, but because of the squad we’ve built as a club.
"Everyone works for each other, everyone fights for each other. I look at these boys and see more than a Sunday League team, I see a family.
"I’m over the moon to have won this trophy, it’s an honour, and we’re on to even bigger things next season.”
