South Manchester stormed to an eight-wicket victory against Trinity in Division Three of the Greater Manchester Amateur Cricket League.

Akiva Lieberman was the star of the show for South, hitting an unbeaten 49 as Steve Glicher’s side easily chased down their target of 84 for victory.

David Glick’s impressive bowling performance had given South the advantage as Trinity struggled to get going.

Glick took 4-18 off his nine overs, while both Josh Oehley (2-15) and Huddy Lieberman (2-15) also got in on the act.

Needing 84 to win, Akiva Lieberman smashed eight boundaries and one huge six as South cruised to their victory target.

Loz Newman’s 24 helped calm any nerves after the early dismissal of Glicher, who made just one from his 11 deliveries.

Elsewhere, Manchester Maccabi suffered a crushing 205-run defeat by league title favourites Forresters.

Captain Ray Tammam claimed fine figures of 3-45 from his 10 overs before Maccabi were skittled out for just 35 runs.
