Up in heaven, there are two offices of angels. Office A is extremely busy fielding calls and answering letters. There is action nonstop and the angels are working hard throughout the day and night. The other office, Office B, is very quiet and the angels sit, relaxed on a chair, occasionally picking up the phone - as it rarely rings. There isn’t much paperwork either so there’s not much to do.

Office A is the “requests and complaints” department and Office B is the “thanks” department, up in heaven. When there is a problem, we are quick to complain or ask Hashem to help us. Whether it’s illness, or financial loss, work arguments or difficulty with family, our heart suffer with the worries, and words of frustration and sadness roll easily off our tongue.

Yet, when those issues are resolved, or an illness passes, we don’t always remember to thank Hashem for that gift. Most the time, we forget about the issue and focus on the next current problem.

It is natural to hold problems in our mind as they need to be thought through and examined in order to resolve them. However, it is also important to look back over the day and see what has been solved, so that we can focus on that for a few moments and send a prayer of thanks to the One who helped solve it.

This week, as you make your blessing, try to think of a problem that you no longer have and take the opportunity to thank Hashem for its passing.
