HEATON PARK ROVERS 1 MACCABI MANCHESTER YELLOW 0
David Seligman claims Heaton Park Rovers’ defensive organisation earned them this late win over Maccabi Manchester Yellow.
Jonny Franks popped up with the 78th minute to settle this game.
But player-boss Seligman, who was missing a host of players, paid tribute to his watertight defence.
He said: "We were content on taking a point and moving on. And then Jonny does what he does best in poaching us a goal.
"But it was the way we defended that saw us through. The back four did not put a foot wrong and were not for moving.
"George Graham in his heyday at Arsenal would have been proud.
"They provided us with the platform for us to pull together as a unit to edge home."
