HAROLDEANS 1 LEEDS MACCABI 2nd 2
Daniel Kristall claimed Leeds Maccabi passed their first acid test of the season following a hard-fought win in Liverpool.
The Yorkshire side maintained their 100 per cent record thanks to strikes from Richard Black and Jonny Goldstone.
Kristall said: "This was an indicator of how we would fare this season. Haroldeans are a strong side and have been challenging up the top for a few years.
"You expect they will be in with a shout again so to get this win was a great effort. We could have made life more comfortable for us if we have finished our chances.
"But when you consider we were missing Gidi Amar, our captain and centre-half, it was a big result."
Haroldeans boss Jamie Harris, who saw Adam Shiffman net a late consolation, had "no complaints" with the result.
"Leeds are a very strong team this season having now merged their first team with the seconds," he told JC Sport.
"They dominated the first-half and probably could have been more than two goals ahead at the break.
"We've had a very tough start to the season, but it's disappointing to only have one point from the first three matches.
"It looks like being a very competitive league this year and I think it'll be close between three or four teams at the top."
