Olympic silver medallist Zoe de Toledo has confirmed she will quit rowing to resume her studies.

De Toledo, 28, the cox who helped GB's women's eight to an historic second placed finish in Rio, will not be going for gold in Tokyo 2020.

Instead the post-graduate student will swap the oars for her books and return to Oxford University to take up medicine.

She said: "It's been amazing journey and I've loved every minute of it. But now my time on the water is up."
