Ski in Italy
Head to Adler Mountain in the Unesco world heritage site of the Italian Dolomites.
This 30-room hotel is made up of a central wooden lodge and an arc of chalets that all have log fireplaces. They resemble old Tyrolean mountain huts and blend well with the Alpe di Siusi's natural setting. The main lodge houses the reception, a lounge with open fireplace, spacious sun terrace, restaurant, wellness and spa facilities, indoor/outdoor infinity pool and 18 guest suites, all with views of the Dolomites.
Skiing starts at the door, thanks to the hotel's ski in/ski out facility, right on the piste but there are also plenty of winter hiking routes and toboggan runs for non-skiers.
The Lodge has a "Love Poem" package, which ensconces newlyweds in the snug, private world of a junior suite or chalet, with a spa treatment for two, plus a bottle of bubbly and fresh fruit to enjoy on a private terrace. Prices start from ¤745 (around £575) per person for three nights' full-board.
