Minnie Mickler, who celebrated her 100th birthday in March, died last week, after a short stay in hospital. She was the oldest member of Newcastle United Hebrew Congregation and had lived at home. In paying tribute to his mother, Tony Mickler said: “She had a wonderful long life and lived independently almost to the end.” Rabbi Dovid Lewis said: “Mrs Mickler had so many memories, it was fascinating to discuss these with her.”
