Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu arrived in London last night for a meeting on Wednesday with US special envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell.

Last night Mr Netanyahu met senior UK media figures for a private briefing.

He will meet Gordon Brown at noon today, after a meeting this morning with Jewish community leaders.

Mr Netanyahu has a scheduled four hour meeting with George Mitchell tomorrow morning, where the two men will reportedly attempt to ease the current tension between their states over settlement construction.

It is thought that settlements will also be a key issue in the Prime Minster’s discussion with Gordon Brown, along with concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.

After leaving the UK Mr Netanyahu will fly to Berlin to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel,.

What would UK Jews say to Bibi?/
