Andy Murray wasn’t the only star of the Centre Court on Monday night. It was the chap in the black hat, tzitzit and fake peyot that bemused many in the Jewish community.

Millions saw him celebrating Murray's epic battle against Stanislas Wawrinka and Twitter was awash with speculation as to who he was.

But a few hours ago, the man himself, JJ Kimche, 16, Hasmonean High School pupil spoke to us from his home in Golders Green to reveal he and his pals (also pictured) were the lucky ones to have got Centre Court tickets at all.

“There were five of us and we camped out overnight in the queue. Only the first 500 get Centre Court tickets and we were the last five,” said JJ, the son of Rabbi Alan Kimche of Ner Yisroel Synagogue in Hendon.

“We had a great time and the Murray match was obviously the highlight. We really made the atmosphere. The rest of the crowd was very calm and we were the ones who screamed and shouted. Eventually everyone else cottoned on. With the new roof there was a great atmosphere.

“People have been stopping me in Hendon and Golders Green to say they saw us. We had so many texts while we were sitting there.”
