Former Mitzvah Day chief executive Stuart Diamond has joined the Jewish Small Communities Network (JSCN) as its head of engagement.
He will spearhead Create, its four-year Lottery-funded initiative to empower local Jewish communities, covering such subjects as delivery of talks in schools, shared Shabbat experiences, heritage projects and more.
Diamond, who oversaw three Mitzvah Days before stepping down in February, said, "Joining JSCN is a tremendous opportunity to make a tangible difference. I look forward to collaborating with communities nationwide to bring Create’s vision to life.”
JSCN chief executive Ed Horwich, said, "We are thrilled to welcome Stuart Diamond to our team at this pivotal moment. His expertise and passion will be instrumental as we scale Create to strengthen Jewish life in smaller communities—home to 25 per cent of the UK’s Jewish population.
“With National Lottery funding, we’re building a sustainable future for these communities, ensuring they thrive despite today’s challenges.”
JSCN supports over a hundred communities in 72 towns and aims to reach 5,000 people through its Create programme.
