The Paradise kosher bakery in Golders Green Road is closed until further notice following a fire last Friday evening. It is believed the cause was a malfunction in the compressor unit on the front counter. A neighbour alerted the emergency services and the fire brigade extinguished the blaze inside 15 minutes.
Yosef Gabai, the bakery owner, said on Wednesday that he was awaiting an insurance assessment of the damage. He hoped to be back in business "as soon as possible".
