Pot luck: Beit Shvidler pupils in Edgware are up for the challenge
1 min read

Year two pupils at Jewish schools across the country are entering a growing phase — and for a good cause.

The Great Sunflower Race has been organised as a fun and educational way for children to support the Reuth Medical Centre in Tel Aviv, caring for the mental and physical well-being of over 1,000 patients annually.

Organised by the British Friends of Reuth and supported by the JC, the aim of the contest is to grow the tallest sunflower over the next two months, with Toys Us vouchers going to the three highest entries.

Participants have been sent starter kits including seeds, pots, compost and tape measure.
Money raised through sponsorship will go towards the therapeutic roof garden at the centre, which helps patients in their rehabilitation.
