Jewish actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld has brutally responded to a pro-Palestine social media influencer, telling the activist “I don’t care about Palestine”.

Seinfeld made the blunt comment after he was ambushed with slogans while posing for a selfie in public.

A clip posted by the Instagram page Subway DJ showed the influencer approaching Seinfeld and asking for a selfie, which Seinfeld consents to.

But as the two posed together, the influencer held up a peace sign and said “Free Palestine”.

When Seinfeld did not respond, the activist, who reportedly requested the photo outside an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, prompted him to “maybe” say the same.

Seinfeld replied: “I don’t care about Palestine,” before walking away from the influencer.

Subway DJ has previously posted guerilla-style ambushes of Seinfeld in public places; in November, they filmed him on a New York City street as people approached him for autographs and, over a loudspeaker, chanted: “Jerry, Jerry, don’t support genocide... stop supporting Israel.”

Seinfeld, meanwhile, has been consistent in his Israel advocacy, frequently voicing support for the war against Hamas since October 7 and meeting with hostages’ family members in 2023.

In a statement on Instagram following the attacks, the actor said: "We believe in justice, freedom, and equality. We survive and flourish no matter what. I will always stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”

It comes after groups of Duke University students walked out of Seinfeld’s commencement speech there last year in protest at his pro-Israel stance.
