Last night's Met Gala wasn't a particularly Jewish affair (it was themed Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination) however actress Lynda Carter decided to inject some Judiasm into the award ceremony.
The original Wonder Woman - who while she is not Jewish, is married to one, Robert Altman, and has two Jewish children - swapped her character's gold crown for one bearing the legend "Never forget" in Hebrew: “leolam al tishcechi”. She finished the look by tying her hair back with a clip in the shape of a Star of David.
Continuing her theme, Carter carried a bag designed by the iconic Holocaust survivor Judith Lieber.
Jewish actress Sarah Jessica Parker (who carried a Judith Lieber bag as her alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And the City) went in the other direction. She also wore a headpiece but her crown depicted an entire Nativity scene.
Fans took to social media to praise Carter for her choice of outift and to publicly enjoy her accessories.
