Sir Paul McCartney has followed the success of his first Israeli concert last year by joining conflict-resolution organisation OneVoice.
The former Beatle has been added to the Honorary Board of Advisors for the charity, which works with Israelis and Palestinians to promote a two-state solution to the conflict.
During the gig at Tel Aviv’s Park Hayarkon last September, Sir Paul and his band wore OneVoice pin-badges.
He said: “I was impressed by the fact that half the organisation is Palestinian and half is Israeli. Almost 650,000 people have signed up to their manifesto, supporting their steadfast work to bring about a negotiated solution and peace in the region.
“I am, therefore, happy to lend my support in this way to the cause of peace.”
OneVoice’s board includes more than 60 world leaders and celebrities, including Muhammad Ali, Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks and Danny DeVito.
