It all went swimmingly

The week's best story is undoubtedly the man from Israel who has even succeeded in astonishing the Jerusalem Beth Din, to the point at which it went as far as issuing a press release.
This was the man who at just 50 years old has managed to get himself divorced 11 times. No, that is not a typo. He has become married and divorced eleven times and says he has no trouble in meeting new women. His lizard-like comment is that he "throws out the hook and the fish come swimming."
Now, you might imagine that the rabbanut would look, at a minimum, somewhat askance at this kind of behaviour. Apparently not. They issued the press release to note the record number of divorces and then remarked, with apparent approval, that the man had gone through all his parting of the ways "according to halachah."
Well, there's a relief. Not a word about serial womanising and lack of commitment and, oh, by the way, refusal to provide child support from the thankfully only one child he appears to have spawned. Hooray for the upright rabbis.
Good job that this "hero" remains anonymous. Otherwise the women of Israel (or "fish", as he so adorably refers to them), might be tempted to rise up and perform serious surgery on his, er, hook. Without benefit of anaesthetic.
