British Jews may have a lot to learn from Israelis on gender equality, but at least we have now offered, for the first time, a position on the Board of Deputies to a representative of the up-to-80,000 Israelis living in Britain. Anat Koren rightly says it is time to include Israelis, who make up a third of the Jewish population, in the “decision-making process of Jewish life in this country.”
But there are other groups, too, who need their perspective taken into account. The many nebbishes in our community are ignored and have much to offer. And as for Spurs’ Yid Army…
