A students Palestinian society has been banned from running events after hosting a man convicted of killing an Israeli.
The Queen Mary University Palestine Solidarity Society had Ahmed Alfaleet appeared via a video link at an event on campus in January.
Alfaleet, 42, served 20 years in prison for the death of the Israeli in Gaza in 1992.
Following the event, Jewish students complained to the London university’s principal Simon Gaskell.
Mr Gaskell replied that the society would be banned from holding activities for the next eight weeks. The ban began last Sunday.
One of the complainants, Queen Mary student Devora Khafi, said: “I don’t think it will help Jewish students. It will just anger the PSS more.”
According to reports the student union did not approve Alfaleet’s appearance, with the talk violating several union regulations.
